What It Means to Be a Marauder
Every Marauder begins a journey. We step aboard carrying different stories, different experiences, and different hopes for where the voyage may take us. We do not all come from the same place, and we will not all follow the same path. But here, at Warren Mott High School, we become part of something bigger than ourselves. We become a crew.
Every strong crew needs something to guide its course. For us, that begins with four core values:
Respect. Trust. Support. Unity.
Respect reminds us that every person aboard matters. Trust is built each time our words and actions show others they can count on us. Support means reaching for someone when the waters get rough — and knowing someone will reach for us when we need it. Unity happens when all those individual oars begin pulling together. That is when we become more than the individuals who share the same school. We become stronger. We become One Community. One Crew.
The journey will not always be easy. There will be calm waters and rough seas. Some days the wind will be at our backs; others will take everything we have to move forward. Those moments reveal what it truly means to be a Marauder.
We choose respect when it is easier not to. We choose to be worthy of trust. We choose to support someone who needs us. We choose to pull together instead of apart. We choose to Be Fierce.
Being fierce isn't about being the loudest voice in the room or the strongest person on the ship. It is having the courage to live our values, especially when they are tested. It is standing up for what is right, lifting others when they need us, taking responsibility for our choices, and moving forward when the waters become difficult.
With every choice, every act of kindness, every hand extended, and every row of the oar, we help chart the course — not only for ourselves, but for the Marauders who sail beside us and those who will come after us.
This is our journey. This is our community. This is our crew. And wherever the course may take us, we move forward together.
We are Warren Mott.
